Jeremiah Masoli and Jordan Holmes will be on the cover of the Sports Illustrated in the latest edition. Pretty cool the Ducks will get some regional recognition and show off the "lights out" jerseys... Hmmm... The last Duck to grace the cover... None other than Jason Fife after beating Michigan. Any good Duck fan knows what happened next.
I am not worried about it since it is just a regional cover. I don't think the curse applies. I just hope it pisses some Washington and OSU fans off.
ReplyDeleteI also remember when we were on the cover with the beavs and they were projected #1 and we were projected #9...the beavs went 5-6 and missed a bowl and the Ducks finished #2 and won the Fiesta Bowl...so, I guess the curse doesn't always work.

ReplyDeleteAnd do you remember the time before Fife when a Duck were featured on the cover? 2001...it turned out pretty well.
ReplyDeleteMid-season I never want the Ducks to appear on teh cover, but pre-season didn't seem to have an effect.
Aaron brooks was on the cover of an NCAA tournament preview issue (a tiny pic of him in a big collage of players) and we went to the elite 8.
ReplyDeleteI do remember when Harrington and Simonton were on the cover. The Ducks didn't seem to have a problem that year... except with Stanford. Though the Beaver's seriously dropped the ball.
